About Sazed

Experience
The experience behind Sazed is Nicholas Maait's: more than fifteen years in technology, the last ten of them accountable for the systems a business runs on and the people who build them. Most recently at a Sydney fintech, with a seat on the leadership team, where he designed the serverless AWS platform and took a new private credit product from architecture to launch. Before that, seven years at an international online wagering company, ending up responsible for the engineering behind its global betting products. The first years were spent writing software, starting with security systems.
The industries changed but the questions did not: what to build, what to buy, what to replace, and what it will cost to run. That work has covered online gaming, fintech, legal technology and security, in businesses from ten-person teams to corporates of several hundred people. One of those engagements, with a legal technology business, is described on the Work page. Sazed exists to give a business the kind of technology leadership those larger companies hire full time.
That gap has widened. AI has made software cheaper to build and capable of work that used to need people, and the opportunity to automate and build smarter is real for a business of any size. What most businesses lack is someone who can say where it applies, where it does not, and what happens once it is switched on. Sazed fills that gap with working systems, not pilots, proofs of concept or demonstrations that look good in a boardroom.
How Sazed is structured
Sazed is a technology practice led by its Principal, Nicholas Maait. He scopes every engagement, does the advisory work personally, and architects every build. The same accountability carries an engagement from the first conversation through to a system that is built and running: there is no hand-off partway through to someone the client has not met.
Delivery is a model, not a bench. A build is architected and led by Sazed and delivered by engineering partners engaged for that project, under Sazed's architecture, standards and contractual accountability. The person who scopes the work is the person accountable for it, and partners are engaged because the work calls for them, never to keep anyone busy.

Partners
Two parts of the work are delivered with delivery partners: managed services under Sazed's architecture, and brand and design, where a partner leads the brand identity and designs the website Sazed builds. Partners are named here only once they have agreed to it in writing.
Managed services
Hosts, monitors and supports the systems Sazed designs, under an agreed service level, so the client has one number to call after hand-over.
Brand and design
Leads brand strategy, identity and guidelines, and designs websites with Sazed, under the same scope and the same accountable person.
